A collaboration between Linda Hsiao and Kagan Taylor, Knotwork LA was created as an outlet for the work this creative pair do in their spare time. Beginning with a desire to create beautiful, useful things and made possible by precious pieces of wood saved from other projects or found while hiking.
Their baby rattle comes in two shapes and four wood types. The carabiner rattle is based on that vital piece of climbing equipment, while the round rattle is inspired by Isamu Noguchi. Made in walnut, oak, cherry and sycamore, each rattle comes with its own jar of wood wax to maintain what may well become a family heirloom. The shape and feel of these beautiful objects is compelling, and the sound is magical.
Based in San Francisco, In Fiore was established by Julie Elliott to promote the ancient health benefits of raw florals and herbs. This distinctive, all-natural beauty line believes that caring for the body leads to the nourishment of mind and spirit.
The Veloutée Multipurpose Balm for Lips and Eyes is gentle and versatile, a go-to cure-all for new mums. A blend of nourishing extracts and oils such as carrot seed, olive and resveratrol from Japanese bamboo, this handcrafted formula provides a delightful treat for skin. Packaged in a beautiful compact with handy mirror, the perfect size to take with you everywhere.
Founded by New York City-based French/American husband and wife team Sophie Demenge and Michael Ryan after the birth of their first child, the mission of Oeuf (“egg” in French) is to design essentials for the modern nursery that focus on quality, practicality and function, without compromising on style.
The Large Bib in White with Grey Bunny is made from 100% GOTS certified organic pima cotton, which means it feels super soft against baby’s skin. Measuring 8.5 x 11 inches and fastening with ties, this bib will maintain its shape despite busy fingers and frequent washing. Each piece is made in Peru in accordance with fair trade principles.
Fort Standard for Areaware
The Brooklyn-based design and fabrication studio Fort Standard, founded by Gregory Buntain and Ian Collings, creates work of structural simplicity and honest materials. The pair merge craft tradition with progressive design to produce objects that are refreshingly unique, yet of a quality and longevity that mean they could well go on to become future classics.
The Diamond Box is inspired by round diamonds, with the crown and base of the box secured by magnets, creating a seamless hideaway for whatever is inside. Made of beech wood and measuring 2.75 x 2.25 x 2.25 inches, this practical display piece is the perfect size for that first lock of hair or other tiny baby memories.
